About
Ansel Adams famously stated "You don't take a photograph, you make it." I think that this is all the more true in the digital world. Starting with a base exposure, the digital darkroom allows me to create an image that appears exactly as I envisioned it when pressing the shutter. As a scientist by trade, I enjoy the endless experiments that digital photography allows.
I’m often asked if I have a favorite subject. My honest answer is not really - I’m always on the lookout for interesting subjects in great light. I shoot sports, food, classic cars, diecast models, backyard birds, travel/landscape, nature…you get the point. My current gear includes a Canon R6 and various Canon lenses. I've also been experimenting with shooting landscapes and travel photos using my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
